Global warming is fast reaching a point of no return, we have a limited time to take action to turn the tide against an unsustainable planet and an ever more severe extinction crisis. We need to be moved to take action now to have a planet to hand over to an environmetally conscious and connected generation. We must inspire the future and be proud of the legacy we pass on.
30 years of conservation and biosphere restoration success in the Eastern Cape is under threat due to the impact of covid on tourism. Through the Addo2Fish Marathon you will support the reserves in the area during a very tough time, and be part of a brighter future for Eastern Cape conservation with the mega reserve initiative underway. When you are Running to Restore, you will be taking the first steps to restoring the biodiversity and free movement of the animals of the Addo2Fish conservation landscape - between the Addo National Park and the Great Fish Nature Reserve.

A weekend of adventure among the Big 5,
a chance to be part of an incredible dream. Be part of Running Down The Fences between the game reserves of the Eastern Cape.
Guests will get to run or walk among the Big 5 in the beautiful Eastern Cape, while staying in secluded reserve lodges.
A weekend of adventure to support conservation through the pandemic and to launch the incredible conservation and biodiversity Mega Reserve vision for the area.
Arrive on Friday afternoon for a game drive. Your drive will give you a sense of the routes - any animal you see on Friday afternoon, you could be running past on Saturday morning! Your Sunday morning game drive will provide an opportunity to see some areas of the reserve you didn’t run in.
The Impact
We have 4 focus inttiatives that the FundRunners are supporting:
Conservation - The Bushman's River Bridge Wildlife Underpass
Community and Rhinos - The training, equiping and salary of a community member as a Rhino Monitor Ranger
Local Economy, Eventing and Tourism - the Addo2Fish Marathon is a boost to the area. Supporting local businesses like the reserve and their staff who are key to the delivery, event infrastrcuture and catering companies all the way to contract work for indivuduals from the community.
